Of course , it’s a teacher’s…….!

Being with children

brings happiness and satisfaction

Life full of  smiles

Of course, it’s a teacher’s!

Once become a mother

And the other way a friend

Life full of caring

Of course , it’s a teacher’s!

Sometimes it’s a smile

But it’s a tear drop again

Life full of sharing

Of course, it’s a teacher’s!

Developing Methodist

Methodist Central College is still being developed as Isuru school.Last two old buildings were removed and two more new buildings are about to be built. Thanks to  all the authorities specially to ADB for the attempts taken to develop Methodist as an Isuru school !

Back to school……….!

Hi ! we’re at the school again after a long school vacation. To day we started  to work with our blogs. It’s very enjoyable – working with the children.

10 Day Workshop @ Deiyandara

I was lucky to participate in a 10 day workshop at Deiyandara. There  I had a chance to do so many activities. It was very helpful to improve our knowledge in both proficiency and  professional development. I must be very thankful to the authorities who conduct this program. The trainers were really good and they were trained at EFLU , Hyderabad, India.

Last day we had a farewell party , there we got together & sang the farewell song. It was composed by me to the tune of a well-known song – “Jimmy please say you’ll wait for me………”

Farewell song

Good afternoon all of you

I’m here to say to something true

This is what I have to say

About the course which we call ” 10 day.”

When I received the letter of it

Thought of coming but felt lazy a bit

But I know that I must come

‘Cos this task is of superiors some.

I must say about the lecturers first

They are really nice and best

We had lessons, fun and joy

Throughout the course with so many jokes.

Mrs Iranganie is the lady Head

Echoing in our minds what she said

Thank you very much for the work

Done by you with fancy walk.

Samanthi is so good though she is a miss

If she was here I’d give her a kiss

Memories of the lessons she did here

Will echo in our minds forever.

I think I’d talk more or less

About Mr. Bandu and work of his

But I don’t have words to say

Something about his work and way.

Mrs. Sujatha, being a friend of mine

Lessons she did were so much fine

This is what I have to say

Thank you and let’s meet another day.

I must say something about the place

Mr. Punyasoma and his staffmates

They really do a  great job too

Can’t be said with word or too.

Finally I must thank you all

Making me to feel very happy and cool

Till we meet again another day

Good bye and have a nice day!

Link School Programme @ Methodist

We are conducting a link school pen pal programme with a UK school – Wyke Regis CE Junior School Of Weymouth. The Head Teacher there,Mr.Saunders and the other staff members , specially Mrs. Victoria Garland work hard to keep up this link. Their corporation to up lift our students’ motivation to learn English is always highly appreciated by Methodist. And we do not forget Mr. Mohan Samarasinghe of Ruhuna Children Development Trust, who helped us to be linked with the Wyke Regis Junior School.

I am happy………!

I am conducting a workshop in English every Tuesday with Hakmana e-village students. I am happy to say that my students are progressing and they use English in classroom activities. They are motivated by activity based teaching methods -language games, songs etc . My target is to facilitate  my students giving more opportunities for them to use English.

A New Effort

I have just started a new workshop for my students. My effort is to equip them with  the knowledge of English.I conduct an activity based class for them every Tuesday. I think they will really enjoy in involving it.

My school – My working Place

I am working at MR/Methodist Central College ,Hakmana , Srilanka. It is a leading school in the area and now it is developing fast as an ISURU school in the island. Isuru is a special prject started under the  “Concept of Mahinda Chinthana’.

Our school is rather a big school with about 1000 students. Its motto is ‘ NO LIFE WITHOUT DISCIPLINE” .  The principal and the teachers of the school work hard to bring its motto to the reality and their effort has become a success.

In our school we have classes from Grade six to Grade Thirteen. We have co-curricular activities such as Cadetting. First aids . Sports. Computer related work etc.

I wish every success to  Methodist.
